Mish Mash Challenge - Grey (Penelope Luz)

Heeeeeeeyy! I'm back this week with a Mish Mash Challenge for ya! I haven't been feeling 100% lately so I skipped last weeks challenge. I'm finally starting to feel better again and have a super awesome polish to show you for this weeks theme of grey!

After raiding my stash, I came up with an untried indie, Penelope Luz in Tendresse and OPI in I Have A Herring Problem.

I fell head over heels for Tendresse after I layered it over my base. I was surprised at how smooth it was for being a glitter topper. I still ended up using some Seche Vite to seal it up and make it shine though. I'm defiantly going to have to get some more Penelope Luz; I picked this gem up at Color4Nails in case your wondering too :)

Check out the other awesome mani's from this week below and have a great week!

Mish Mash Challenge - Holographic (ILNP Ultra Holo)

Hello there! I'm back this morning with this weeks Mish Mash Challenge. I was really excited for this weeks theme of holographic! I had a few that I needed to try and of course I went for I Love Nail Polish Blue Steel Ultra holo.

I absolutely LOVE these Ultra Holos! I had a hard time capturing the amazingness of this due to poor weather. But still....the blue on this one was so pretty. Not too dark, but not too light. Check out the other challenge manis below and have a great Sunday!

Wingin' It Lacquer Swatch and Review - Part Two

I'm finally getting around to posting Part Two of my Wingin' It Lacquer review! I've been so swamped with work during the week that I'm barely finding time to blog. And of course, who gets anything done when there's a holiday in the middle of the week? Not me haha!

So today I have the last two pretties of Wingin' It Lacquer that were sent to me for honest opinion. Like the first three, I really enjoyed these last two as well. The colors were so beautiful, lets get to it!

Going Postal
I was loving this one! Its a light baby blue with scattered holos which gave it a beautiful effect! It would shimmer inside and out, so all around this one was a keeper.

Underwater Love
I had to use an indoor photo and an outdoor photo for this one. Out of all five polishes I had, this one was the hardest to apply. I wasn't able to use this one on its own so I went with Wet n' Wild Saved by the Blue for my base color and then used Underwater Love on top. This glitter packed polish has a teal base that has a subtle shimmer to it. The glitter came in different shapes and sizes with awesome large round holographic glitter.

I really enjoyed each of these colors and I'm super grateful I was able to review these! Please check out Wingin' It Lacquer at the links below!

Mish Mash Challenge - Pink

Happy Sunday my friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I went to a Dia del los Muertos event Friday night which was amazing. Great food and great drinks always makes for a good time.

I am here to show you this weeks Mish Mash Challenge...PINK. I'll be honest, pink is not my top choice when it comes to polish. I'm just not a pink kind of gal. I decided that if I was going to use pink, I would try my hand at the gradient again.

I used two pinks for my creation, Sally Hansen Xtremewear in Bubblegum Pink and L'Oreal in Check Me Out. I then topped it off with Out the Door Northern Lights topcoat for a shimmery effect. If I were to wear pink it would probably be like this. I just loved how the gradient came out :)

Check out my other blogger friends below and see what they came up with for this weeks challenge!

MMC - Rainbow

Happy Wednesday! It's that time again for this weeks Mish Mash Challenge! I'm pretty stoked about this week's mani, I love me some colors! The theme this week is Rainbow...which is totally do-able in my book! Check out what I created below!

This is one of those times I wish I had a sixth finger...I know, its weird. I wanted to include colors of the rainbow that we all knew growing up, red-orange-yellow-green-blue-purple. I don't count indigo, I know, that's weird too. Knowing I only had 5 fingers I decided to omit orange (RIP Orange).

Colors that were used were: Essie in Snap Happy and Mojito Madness, SH Xtreme wear in Pacific Blue, Zoya in Darcy and Ulta in Ultra Violet Femme. I used WnW A Blank Canvas for my base, which I am loving these days. And of course some good old fashion tape! Fancy huh?  Check out the other wonderfully awesome designs from the other ladies below and have a great 2nd half of your week!

Wingin' It Lacquer Swatch and Review - Part One

Hi there! I hope everyone had a good Monday...they're always a little rough for me. I love my weekends way too much! I've got some time on my hands this week so I plan on getting in a few posts on a new-to-me indie brand called Wingin' It Lacquer!

Today I have three of the five that were sent to me for review and honest opinion...and to be fairly honest, I loved them all! Let's get to it!

Nice Uh...Watermelons
The name alone on this one makes me giggle. I'm usually not a fan of pink but the subtle green shimmer in this one is stunning!

Burning Leaves
Hello beautiful! This copper shimmer polish is to die for! I really do think of fall and leaves when I see this pretty on my nails. This one has a gold shimmer to it.

Perfectly Plum
Now this one impressed me! The bottle looked more of a purple shimmer but when on the nail, it came out a purple/pinkish hue. No complaining here though, I liked it even better this way.

All of these had great application and they came out stunning. I'm a firm believer in supporting indie polish brands and this is just one more to add to my list.

You can purchase Wingin' It Lacquer on Etsy and visit her Facebook page for more info on future releases. Right now, she's running a special 15% discount on all purchases, so now is a great time to snag a few beauties!

Check back later this week for Part Two of my review on Wingin' It Lacquer!

MMC - Flowers

Happy Hump Day! This weeks Mish Mash Challenge theme is flower. I'm not going to waste any time because I am off to a show tonight, so lets get to the mani!

I was actually pretty satisfied how this came out. It was ridiculously easy to do with just a dotting tool. For my base I used Zoya Hunter, Zoya Darcy for the yellow center, and Wet n Wild A Blank Canvas for the petals. Cute huh?! I cant wait to see what everyone else has planned for this week, check em out below!

Mish Mash Challenge - Triangle

Hello Hello! For the Mish Mash Challenge this week, the theme was triangles! I was actually pretty satisfied with what I did.

I used I love NP My Little Glacier as my base and just used a random black for the triangles with the assistance of tape. Super easy and cute! I'm excited to see what everyone else has done with this one!  Check em out below!

MMC - Blue (Glam Polish)

Hello there! I'm back with a challenge post this week for the Mish Mash Challenge! This weeks theme is blue so I decided to go with a recent favorite indie polish, Glam Polish in Nickle Nackle.

Inside Photo
I picked up this beauty from Color4Nails. If you haven't checked out the site, its a must! This was the only Glam Polish I got from the shop and I'm wishing I purchased more! I freaking love the color and the glitters used in this polish. Application was simple and easy with no issues, I was extremely happy.

 Outside Photo

Outside Photo
I sealed the deal with some Seche Vite and called it good. I'm pretty much in love with this color :)

Check out the other ladies below and have a fantastic week!

TIOT - Barielle and LynBDesigns

Hello ladies! I'm back after a few weeks with a Try It On Tuesday post for you! I've been busy as usual with my job but I never let it stop me from doing my nails. Since I'm ahead of the game for once, I have a few posts lined up with some of the new polish I've scored recently...I cant wait to show you!

Today's manicure is simple, I went with Barielle Welcome Ohm for my base and Old Fashioned Villain from LynBDesigns for my glitter topper.

Welcome Ohm is a pretty purple creme that I picked up in 5 pack at Marshall's for a sweet deal. I scored Old Fashioned Villain for free in a deal that LynBDesigns was having a month back on her Etsy shop. I love adding to my collection of indies and this one doesn't disappoint.

Hope everyone is having a great week and until next time!

MMC - 30 Seconds to Mars Inspired Music Nails

Happy Labor Day to my American readers! I am back from my mini road trip/vacation to Denver, CO. I had such a great time, I really do love that city. The bf and I finally had the opportunity to tour the New Belgium brewery in Ft. Collins. I think that was the highlight of my trip, I love beer!

I'm finally getting around to posting last weeks Mish Mash challenge theme music. The first thing that popped into my head when I thought of music were CD's. I've recently been purchasing the actual CD instead of buying the album on iTunes. I think I like the idea of something tangible that I can hold. So I went to my stack of CD cases and the first one on top was the winner. This is my 30 Seconds to Mars inspired cover art mani.

I love 30 Seconds to Mars and loved their new album Love Lust Faith + Dreams. The cover art on this CD is colorful and catches the eye. They used a huge backdrop with the same print in their Up In the Air video and I just remember thinking PRETTY! I love dotticures because of how easy they are and since I was having a busy week last week I thought it was a perfect idea.

I used WnW A Blank Canvas for my base and about 18 different nail polish bottles in various brands and colors for my dots. I was really happy with my results, it turned out exactly how I envisioned it. Its a great feeling when you love your results.

Don't forget to check out the other ladies below and have a great week!

MMC - Water Marble

Wednesday, yay! Only a few more days until the weekend! These last few weeks at work have been killing me but I am so grateful that I have a job, so no complaining right?

This weeks Mish Mash challenge was trying a technique that you've never tried before. Since I already had a base on from Essie For The Twill of It, I decided to try out the water marble technique. Holy Moses, this was a total pain! But I think it came out OK for my first shot.

I realized after I was done that this kind of nail art does not require perfection. Even though some bloggers are stellar at this kind of thing, I think its perfectly OK that each nail has its own thing going on. It was fun to wear but will for sure take some trial and error before I can be comfortable with this one. I ended up using Sinful Colors Black on Black, SH Xtremewear White On, Zoya Aurora and then topped it off with OTD Northern Lights top coat. Not too shabby right?

Before you leave dont forget to check out the other awesome ladies below and have a great week!

TIOT - Essie For TheTwill of It

Howdy howdy! I'm back for Try it On Tuesday with some awesomeness of a nail polish . I got a wonderful surprise gift from the lovely Natalie at Over The Top Coat (thank you :D) and was so excited that I tried it on the night it arrived in the mail.

Today I've got Essie For The Twill of It from the Fall 2013 Collection.

For The Twill of It is a stunning purpleish/grey duochrome with hints of green and blue. I fell in love when I saw the bottle and was hoping it would turn out just as beautiful on my nails and it did not disappoint! The color shift in the sunlight was so cool that I cant wait to get my hands on some more duochrome polish. This one lasted a few days too before it started to chip which is always a good thing. All around, I couldn't be happier with this pretty!

I shall be back tomorrow with MMC post featuring a nail art technique I've never tried before, so check back for that!

MMC - Metallic Diamond Geezer

Friday, I didn't think you'd ever get here! Happy weekend ladies! Ive been MIA for a little bit due to this little thing called my day job. Gotta make that paper to spend that paper on polish right?! :)

With my super busy schedule I had to go with something easy for this weeks Metallic theme for the Mish Mash challenge. I choose butter London Diamond Geezer, a stunning platinum silver metallic polish.

This is one I had yet to try and I'm glad I did! It was opaque in 2 coats and I think it would make a great base for some cool nail art.

Well, I am out for the evening, have yourself an awesome weekend and check out the other challengers below!

TIOT - Sally Hansen Sugar Coat

Hey ladies! For this weeks try it on Tuesday I decided to go with Sally Hansen Sugar Coat in Sour Apple.

This is my first time playing around with textured polish and I think its pretty cool. The textured feel is super weird, it reminded me the popcorn ceiling that some houses had when I was a kid. I love the color of this one though, you cant go wrong with mint green! I still need to try out some Zoya PixieDust and I'm way over due on a visit to Ulta so its bound to happen soon.

I'll be back tomorrow with this weeks Mish Mash challenge so keep an eye out for that post!

Mish Mash Challenge!

Guess what day it is?! It's Hump Day! :)

Today is also the start of a new challenge! Some of us ladies from the last challenge and some wonderful new additions are getting together again for what is being called the Mish Mash Challenge. This challenge will consist of a different theme each week that were chosen at random. I'm excited for this one, I think its definitely going to be challenging!

This weeks theme was brought to you by the color: Purple. I have been dying to try I Love Nail Polish and when I saw the Ultra Holographic collection I fell over in my seat. I had to have all of them, and all of them I got! I was so excited when I got my package wrapped in cute ILoveNP tissue paper. Since I knew that this week was the color purple, I went for Amanda Hugginkiss!

DROOOOOL, photos don't do this justice. I couldn't take my eyes off of my hands! I'd be driving along and then catch a glimpse of my nails in the sun and just gaze! They're a beautiful hazard LOL. I still haven't tried the others but don't be surprised if they make an appearance sometime soon. A good holo is like my kryptonite, just take my money, please.

Before you go please check out the other ladies below and have a great week!

TIOT - Nail Pattern Boldness

Hi there! For today's Try It On Tuesday I have a 2 in 1! I just got myself two lovely bottles of Nail Pattern Boldness, Glitter A-Peel and Hello, Sweetie! After seeing so many reviews of Glitter A-Peel I had to get my hands on it and of course I couldn't purchase that without getting a glitter polish to go with it. My choice was Hello, Sweetie!

This pretty little thing is a purple jelly with glitters galore. I'm starting to appreciate purples more and more these days. Under this bad boy was Glitter A-Peel and I have to say it was SO AWESOME! I actually had a few nails pop off while at work and doing random things. It was so nice though to not have to deal with nail polish remover and cotton balls and the smell! It's worth every damn penny...LOVE IT!

Have a wonderful evening everyone and tomorrow I'll be back with a brand new challenge! Can't wait!

Try It On Tuesday - Clown Puke

Hello people! Happy Tuesday! Today is kind of like my "Friday"...tomorrow is a state holiday, Pioneer Day! What is Pioneer Day you might ask? I have no freaking clue! I've had the unfortunate pleasure of living in Utah for 6 years now and I think I first heard about this holiday maybe 3 years ago. I think...I think...it may be when the Pioneers settled in Utah, I could be wrong though. I just celebrate the fact that my company uses this day as a PAID holiday, so I have no problem taking full advantage.

OK, on to the polish right?! For today's TIOT I've got on  KB Shimmer Clown Puke over Sally Hansen White On. Clown Puke is an amazing awesome glitter packed top coat that pretty much rocks my socks off. It was so much fun watching new glitters show up on each nail. The KB Shimmer website says that this polish has over 100 different glitters which is mind blowing to think about!

Super pretty right?! So much glitter...and I probably could have used more, but I didn't want to over do it. I know the more glitter I used, the harder it would be to take off :) Plus I only got a mini bottle so heavens forbid I use it all. Well I am off to see a movie, I hope each of you have an awesome week!

Mint Manis for Talia Joy

This week the beauty community lost a beautiful and talented young lady named Talia who touched everyone's heart. Today, we remember her by posting mint manis and to celebrate the life of someone so beautiful inside and out. I'm going to keep this post short and sweet so here is my mint mani, KB Shimmer That's Mint.

Remember when times get tough, and you feel like you just cant go on anymore, think of Talia and #justkeepswimming. RIP pretty lady.

Try It On Tuesday - Sonoma Nail Art

Hey there! I hope everyone is having a good week so far, mine is all over the place and its only Tuesday! Working and staring at a computer all day makes it hard to come home and spend more time on the computer and blog. I really do like posting once a week though, it gives me time to enjoy my manicure and play around with other colors in between. Currently, I am blogging from the inside of my closet because I have scared dog who is terrified of the thunder that's happening outside...what a chicken right? The closet is her safe place and she prefers to have you with her; and she wont leave you alone until you get into the closet. So here I am, closet blogging.

For today's TIOT, I've got another indie that has been on my buy list for a while and I am oh-so-glad I finally got my hands on some, Sonoma Nail Art. First off, I have to say that I LOVE the bottles. I like the fact that each bottle has a different design for each color, I think it makes it unique. Today I wanted to share with you the beautiful Aether.

You may or may not have noticed but I used a REAL camera for my photos today! LOL. I've had this camera for a while now and finally decided to give it a shot since my iPhone photos show up like garbage sometimes. I think they actually came out pretty decent, I'll defiantly need to play around with the settings but I think this is a good start.

The last photo in the set is probably the closest to the true color of this stunning polish. I used about 3 coats and had no issues with the formula. The small glitters and the aqua base made this polish land in my top 5 favorite colors. Another thing I loved was that it lasted for about 4 days until it started to chip, which is great in my book. Isn't it pretty?!

Well, I am off to tend to a spazmatic dog and eat some ice cream, I hope everyone has a lovely week and until next time!

Try It On Tuesday - Lime Crime

Hey there! I decided to participate in a little thing every Tuesday with Gini from Sassy Paints called Try It On Tuesday. These posts will consist of polishes that I've probably had for a while and have been dying to try out. Its a great way to enjoy these beauties and try more of them out! Lord knows I have waaaay too many untrieds!

Today I've got on Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream, a gorgeous peach color that's been in my stash for a few months now. I decided to try out a "quilted" pattern on my ring finger with another polish that I recently purchased and just used for the first time, Tough As Nails Lacquer in Peachy Keen. When I looked at buying Peachy Keen, she had a swatch of it over Peaches <3 Cream and I pretty much had to have it.

SO PRETTY! I'm really digging the peach and coral colors this summer. It's a weakness of mine when I walk into Ulta. Damn you beautiful nail polish....why do you tempt me! If you want to participate in TIOT, you can check out Sassy Paints FB for more info.

Also, I have decided to jump on the Bloglovin bandwagon...so please follow me there! Have a wonderful week everyone! Follow my blog with Bloglovin

ABC Challenge - Z is for Zoya

Happy Hump day! I can't believe that we're at the end of the ABC Challenge! It's been awesome getting to know the ladies who participated and seeing what kind of amazing artwork can happen using nail polish. You ladies are truly an inspiration!

Now on to the super simple Z manicure, Z is for Zoya. I went with Zoya Rocky because I have become OBSESSED with this color, its pretty much all Ive been wearing since I got it. The blue is the prefect shade, it actually reminds me of the blue skies back home in Oregon.

Well, I am off to an MLS soccer game to cheer on my Real Salt Lake and to enjoy the beginning of my 4-day weekend! Don't you just love a holiday?!

ABC Challenge - Y is for Yellow

Yay for Wednesday! It's time for another challenge post and I've got something that I am so proud of to show you today. I've tried to do the ombre or gradient technique for a while now, never seeming to get it right. Determined to make it work, I took some advise from my best friend and then watched this tutorial. I was pretty confident after the video that I COULD do this. Obviously since this weeks letter is Y, I decided to go with the color Yellow. I went into my stash and found 3 amazingly beautiful yellows and then began to create what I am now so freaking proud of.
TA-DA!

For this beauty I started with a white base, White On by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. I then used three yellows, Sinful Colors Unicorn, Julep Daisy and Zoya Darcy. I topped it off with some KB Shimmer Clearly On Top. AHHHHH I LOVE IT! Its the little things in life that make me happy. Don't forget to check out the other awesome ladies below and stay classy people!

ABC Challenge - X is for Xtreme Wear

Hey there! I've got a late night post for you to get caught up with the ABC Challenge. I can't believe that we're already at X! I wanted to do some nail art but had some issues and wasn't satisfied with my results so I just decided to slap on some good old Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Crushed. I have a TON of these Xtreme Wear nail polish, probably because it's such a great price and I love the colors. This is one of my favorites for sure. I had such a hard time trying to get the right color on the photos, its more of a coral-orange colored nail polish, but still beautiful.

Don't forget to check out the other ladies below! Until next time!

ABC Challenge - W is for Watermelon

Good Morning! Today I'm excited to show you some nail art that I'm pretty proud of. First off, I need to give credit where its due, my boyfriend gave me the idea to do Watermelon for the W challenge this week. I came up with the design on my own and couldn't be more proud of my result.

I used Essie Ole Caliente for my base and then mixed Essie Mojito Madness and Lime Crime Pastelchio for the green tips. I went with a black nail pen for the seeds and then used KB Shimmer Clearly on Top to seal it. I am in love with how it came out! I think its perfect for the start of summer time. I actually ended up going out and buying a watermelon after I did these bad boys, made me hungry looking at them!

I can't wait to see what the other girls have for the challenge this week. Check them out below and have a great week!

ABC Challenge - V is for Violet Voltage

Happy Hump Day! I'm actually getting my post up on time this week for the ABC Challenge! Today I've got Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Violet Voltage. I decided to top it with NYC Starry Silver Glitter. I absolutely love this combination and wear it frequently. Please disregard the dog hair on my nail in one of the photos, I didn't notice it until I uploaded the photo; the joys of having a dog :)

Have a great rest of your week and don't forget to check out the other awesome mani's below!

ABC Challenge - U is for Urban Decay

Hello ladies! For this weeks ABC Challenge, I've got a new set of polish to try out, U is for Urban Decay Showboat Nail Polish Set. I picked this set up at Nordstrom Rack for about $10 and I think the full retail price is around $30, so I got a pretty sweet deal.

I decided to use all the colors from this set and then use tape to do some fun nail art. I think it turned out great! Take a look at the other ladies below from the challenge this week and have a great weekend!
